John Winch (Chair)
John has over 30 years’ experience in investment markets. He obtained his expertise predominantly in the UK where he was a multi-professional services business owner, holding CEO, Directorship and Chairman roles. Most notably, he was responsible for chairing an independent boutique investment business as well as developing a UK FTSE 100 company’s investment platform entry into the UK intermediary market. John brings a truly international flavour to Perpetual Guardian.
James Douglas (Independent Non-Executive Director)
James has two decades experience in the Trust and Financial Services Industry, most recently as TOWER Insurance’s Chief Executive Officer for 4 years. Prior to that, James was the Managing Director for 7 of his 12 years at Guardian Trust. James is currently an Independent Director of Perpetual Trust Limited. James has also held directorships in a number of New Zealand companies, including TOWER Life Limited, Asteron Life New Zealand Limited, and National Insurance Life & Health Limited.
James holds a Bachelor of Commerce and attended a Management of Professional Firms programme at Harvard University.
John has 25 years experience in the trustee and financial services industry and has built a wealth of trustee knowledge and expertise. John is actively involved in the industry and has served as Chair of Personal Trust and Advisory Services Committee with Trustee Corporations Association of NZ (TCA), the industry body responsible for establishing industry standards and monitoring regulatory process and adherence. John is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and the Executor and Trustee Institute of Australia and New Zealand.
Tim Chesterfield (CIO)
Tim Chesterfield has more than 20 years of experience in global financial markets, including 18 years as a Senior Global Equity Investment Manager.
He has previously worked as Head of Equities at QBE Insurance and has been responsible for group-wide equity investment returns in New Zealand, Australia, Europe, the UK and the US. He has strong commercial and strategic acumen, with a focus on investment products and the delivery of scalable investment solutions.
Lynne Carroll (Head of Risk & Compliance)
Lynne joined Perpetual Guardian in July 2015 as Head of Risk and Compliance and is responsible for managing our risk framework and compliance obligations. Lynne brings more than 15 years of experience in compliance and risk management from senior roles with large financial entities in both New Zealand and overseas. Lynne started her career in legal services and also has experience working in listed companies.
